Federal Meat Inspection Act
poultry Products Inspection Act
pure food and drug act

The federal meat inspection act was enacted in June of 1906, mandated the United States Department of Agriculture inspection of meat processing plants that conducted business across state lines. The law was partly a response to the publication of Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle, an expose of the Chicago meat packing industry, because of this after this was issued more precautions were taken for issuing meat and more laws were passed

Pure food and drug actwas enacted for preventing the manufacture, sale, or transportation of adulterated or misbranded or poisonous or deleterious foods, drugs, medicines, and liquors, and for regulating traffic therein, and for other purposes. It was also created in 1906 by the congress. Because of this there has been other laws enacted such as the food drug and cosmetic act.

Poultry products inspections act was enacted by congress for the inspection of poultry and poultry products and otherwise regulate the processing and distribution of such articles as hereinafter prescribed to prevent the movement or sale in interstate or foreign commerce of, or the burdening of such commerce by, poultry products which are adulterated or misbranded. It is the intent of Congress that when poultry and poultry products are condemned because of disease, the reason for condemnation in such instances shall be supported by scientific fact, information, or criteria, and such condemnation under this chapter shall be achieved through uniform inspection standards and uniform applications thereof.
