11. remediation- porcess of cleaning chemical contaimiants from poullted areas.

12. reclamation- typically is used to describe chemical or phsyical manipulants carried out by severaly large degraded sites.

13. recreation- attempts to construct a new biological community on a site so severly disturbed that there is virtually nothing left to restore.

14. wetland mitigation- creating wetlands to restore the lost to developement

15. floodplains- low lying land along river banks and lakes subjected to periodic inundation are often seanonaly flooded forests.

16. ecosystem managment- relativtly new discpline in enviromental science that attempts to integrate ecological, economic and social goals in a unified ststems approch.
